Malinda Hackett is a graduate student in the English Department at California State University, Northridge. She is a literature/creative writing hybrid focus and her research interests include American Literature, crime fiction, feminist crime fiction, noir, gothic, spatial theory, visual rhetoric, and film theory. Malinda is a teaching associate in CSUN’s stretch composition program and is an assistant editor for the publication Waves, an annual showcase of first-year student essays. Malinda is a recipient of the Associated Students Dr. Susan Curzon Scholarship as well as a Graduate Equity Fellow. She is currently working on her thesis, and plans on gaining admittance into a doctorate program for fall 2021. When she is not writing, Malinda enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family.
