WE1S Kicks Off Summer 2018 Research Camp

On Monday, July 2, WE1S kicked off its 2018 summer research camp. The WE1S summer research camps take place simultaneously at U. California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and California State U., Northridge (CSUN) during July 2 through August 4, 2018.

The summer research camps enlist student research assistants for five weeks each year in intensive work focused on data collection and analysis, scholarly research on contexts and methods, technical experimentation, and the creation of humanities advocacy resources.

On the first day of the camp, UCSB and CSUN participants all convened in the DAHC on the UCSB campus. The first week was devoted to orientation activities as we dive in to project work for the summer. View the photo slideshow below to get a glimpse of our first week together!
